The Toyota Belta is also known as the Toyota Yaris in the North American and Australian markets. It is also known as the Toyota Vios in the South Asian markets. The car is categorized as a subcompact sedan manufactured in Japan by Toyota. It is a descendent of the Toyota Platz that was categorized as a sedan.
The used Toyota Belta for sale in Japan emerged with extended exterior dimensions and therefore the interior volume of the car also got larger than those of the 2000–2007 Corolla.
The Belta went on sale in 2005 in Japan. It was charged with a 1.0 or a 1.3-liter engine. It was offered for sale at the Toyota dealership known as Toyopet Store. The use of sheet metal is not made by both of the cars but the centralized dashboard design was similar. Due to the efforts made by Toyota to standardize the design for all markets, there were some cosmetic differences made too. The standard safety features include front seatbelt pretensioners, airbags, and head restraints for all seating positions. The optional features include side curtain airbags, ABS, and Side-impact airbags on the 2007 and 2008 year models.
The 2009 model is available with anti-lock brakes, front seat-mounted torso side airbags, and front and rear row side curtain airbags are offered as standard while the stability control was not offered on all the models of the used Toyota Belta for sale in Japan till 2010 Belta when it was offered as a standard feature. The Yaris sedan earned a “Good” rating score in the frontal crash test by the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It is also rated as “Acceptable” in the roof strength evaluation.
